Downtown Albany finally gets its groove on and welcomes Blue 82, an upscale contemporary lounge which serves a wide selection of wines and other premium beverages, in addition to a light fare with gourmet flourishes. Open for lunch and dinner, with later hours for the bar, Blue 82 is a colorful, chic, and needed addition to the area. Patrons seeking a little nourishment can sample such dishes as flat-bread pizzas, quesadillas, paninis, and desserts. Specialty drinks are plentiful, and include: the Cha-Cha mojito: Bacardi Razz rum muddled with fresh lime, mint, raspberries and sugar); Moet White Star champagne; and Scotch (nearly 15 offerings). The sleek interior is anchored by The Wall, a 96 square-foot focal point located behind the bar that alternates its glowing illumination between lemon, tangerine, salmon, wintergreen, lime, magenta, grape, azure, and blueberry. It’s a stunning statement for a newcomer, and this place is sure to make its mark for a long time to come.
